Privacy Policy
Rukn ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Rukn mobile application (iOS and Android). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
Account Data
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address. We use this solely to create and manage your account.
Saved Content
When you save a link or image through the share sheet, we store the URL, any metadata we extract (title, description, category, tags), and notes you add. This content is yours and is only accessible to your account.
Location Data
If you enable location-based reminders, we collect your precise location to trigger reminders when you are near a saved place. Location data is processed on your device for geofencing and sent to our servers only as anonymized location signals. You can disable location features at any time in Settings.
Crash and Performance Data
We use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance metrics. This data does not include personal information and is used solely to improve app stability.
Push Notification Tokens
If you enable notifications, we store your device push token to deliver reminders and digests. You can disable notifications at any time.
How We Use Your Data
- Core functionality: Saving, organizing, searching, and resurfacing your content.
- AI processing: We send saved URLs and their extracted text to third-party AI services (via OpenRouter) to categorize content, extract structured data, and generate search embeddings. We do not send your personal information (name, email, location) to these services.
- Notifications: Delivering reminders, digests, and location-based alerts you have opted into.
- Crash reporting: Diagnosing and fixing bugs.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS). All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android encrypted storage). We enforce row-level security so each user can only access their own data.

Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Notification history and location signals are automatically deleted after 90 days. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes all your data.
Your Rights
- Access: View all your data within the app.
- Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from Settings › Delete Account.
- Export: Contact us at support@ruknapp.cloud to request a data export.
- Correction: Edit your saved items, tags, notes, and profile at any time.
Children's Privacy
Rukn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We Do Not
- Sell your data to third parties.
- Use your data for advertising.
- Track you across other apps or websites.
- Share your personal information with AI providers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
